Good morning all !
I am really delighted to meet you this Monday morning to tell you about Cloé, the creator of KitbyKlo. You know, this talented designer rather canon, with short hair who looks like the actress Carrey Mulligan and whom you surely have already been able to discover within our Kit & Patrons section.
Personally I love Cloé and his universe!
So it was by talking together for a few weeks now that we had the idea of collaborating to give you a little surprise that will come just in time for all those who still wonder:
"But how am I going to be able to dress for the holidays ???" "
Come on I won't say more for the moment .. Motus and mouth sewn!
In order to make you wait, I told myself that we could take a little time to make you better aware of Cloé, her background, her inspirations, her daily life… So I couldn't resist the urge to transform myself into Journalista for the time of a small interview and for my greatest pleasure, the pretty Cloé kindly agreed to play the game…
So let's go :
What is your Cloé background and where did you come from wanting to create patterns?
I studied fashion design in an art school, it gave me the basics and allowed me to find my universe. I first created my DIY blog, thanks to which I was able to lead many workshops. I have met many very receptive people with a great desire to learn to do things themselves. I absolutely wanted to find a way to be able to transmit my know-how while letting my creativity express, so I came up with the idea of making kits.
How would you define the Kit by Klo style?
It is a very DIY universe, handcrafted but at the same time very refined. Doing things myself, creating them from scratch is as essential as breathing, I love being able to divert things by answering a problem like I do on the blog. With always in mind that nothing is impossible;)
There is a lot of competition how do you stand out?
I think that each brand has its universe, its style. For my part, I like to focus on the packaging because it is very close to my heart, I do everything myself, I really want each client to feel that the kit has been specially prepared for it.
What are the different stages of creating your patterns?
I keep a notebook with lots of ideas for models, I let them simmer and I research in parallel the materials that will go well. Very often I need the fabric first so that the model becomes more precise. Then I sponsor, I test and re-test, in different sizes and different materials. Once the test phase passed successfully, I move on to the graphics and explanations.
What is a typical day for you?
It's very simple there is none. That's why I love what I do so much, no day is the same. Although they all start with good tea, Instagram and my mailbox.
And finally, the little question that will say a little more about our little common surprise, why a little black dress?
The little black dress, as everyone knows, is the basis of a wardrobe, the must-have. I wanted a model that was both simple but sophisticated and a bit sexy, a piece that speaks and goes to all women.
I hope you have enjoyed Cloé as much as I did!
We will meet you very quickly about this famous little dress…
Have a great day,
Marion
