EMMA LAUREN X PRETTY MERCERIE

Good morning all,

To accompany your breakfast on this Monday morning, what could be better than a nice post full of sweetness. During our last trip in search of fabrics, ribbons and haberdashery accessories, we had the chance to meet Emma Lauren. Quite naturally, I wanted to share this superb moment with you. Emma Lauren is a talented young Australian woman specializing in "Flatlays".

Many of you are probably already wondering: But what is Flatlays ??

Well, it is a discipline which consists in highlighting products of all kinds within a universe specific to the creator which, in this case, is that of Emma. Emma is an adorable young woman, passionate about vintage, cooking, flowers, visual beauty and her fabulous doggies!  

I contacted Emma by talking to her about our Haberdashery, our concept of Do it yourself and more generally of fashion. After several conversations chatting with rags and photos, (And yes,  I'm also a photographer so I couldn't help it) Emma kindly offered to set up a collaboration around the products of our Pretty Mercerie that she wanted to integrate into one of her creations… No sooner said than done, we make an appointment in a pretty flower shop where Emma arrives with her hands full of treasures: fresh flowers, tea service, teaspoon and coffee bean… After choosing a small metal table, Emma comes to think for a few minutes, she tilts her head and off we go…  

With extreme thoroughness, Emma positions a cup of coffee, a pompom ribbon, a spoon, a spool of thread, a pretty cake, carnations, flowers and finally small coffee beans which she distills on all of this table… Incredible, the magic operates under my stunned eyes. I am overwhelmed by his talent !! I look, I think about how to highlight his creation and let's go, in my turn to get to work to try to make you share this superb painting…
